I wanted to share a quick note on an important nomination made recently of a leader in our statewide healthcare industry at the national level.
Our United States Senator and Minority Leader Charles Schumer appointed Valerie Grey, the Executive Director of the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) to the Health Information Technology Advisory Council (HITAC).
HITAC is made up of 30 healthcare technology professionals from all over the country. It was formed under 21st Century Cures Act of 2016 to make policy recommendations to the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health IT on the implementation of healthcare infrastructure. Specific goals include improving interoperability, assuring the best use of technology and data, and easing the adoption and use of health IT by patients, providers, payers, and other healthcare professionals—all of which are important to Hixny and its future.
Valerie is a great candidate for this important group, which will help determine the future of our industry, and I was happy to be one of the many who sent a letter of support and endorsement on her behalf. Valerie has done great work in her time as Executive Director for NYeC we look forward to her input and efforts on this prestigious new national panel.
