User input on optimal workflow and patient care moved Hixny to change its system maintenance schedule from monthly to quarterly.

In 2017, maintenance will take place on April 28, July 28 and October 27 (all Fridays). The time window for each maintenance session will remain the same: 7 p.m. Friday through 11 a.m. Saturday.

“We know that any disruption in service is an inconvenience for our members, and through their feedback we looked at areas of potential improvement,“ said Cathy Bunk, Operations Manager at Hixny. “With our new schedule of fewer planned outages, we are confident that our members will witness less overall downtime while we are able to implement system updates more efficiently.”

This is the latest adjustment based on user feedback. Beginning in 2016, also at user request, Hixny began sending messages once maintenance was completed—so that users working overnight shifts could begin to access records immediately.

With the decrease in frequency, maintenance outages may be slightly longer than users experienced on the monthly schedule. Hixny will evaluate feedback to the new maintenance schedule, and adjust if necessary, later this year.

Hixny will be performing extended maintenance beginning Thursday, December 31 through Friday, January 1. During this time, all services
will be impacted and unavailable—including access to the provider portal.
