– First health network in the Southern Hudson Valley begins contributing data to health information exchange. –
ALBANY, N.Y. – Hixny connected two organizations to the community-wide health information exchange (HIE) in September, further expanding the availability of patient records to the statewide healthcare community and to individual healthcare consumers.
The new connections are:
- Ellenville Regional Hospital, a critical access hospital and rural health network based in Ellenville, N.Y.
- St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment & Recovery Center in Saranac Lake, N.Y.
Ellenville Regional Hospital is contributing data using Health Level 7 (HL7), a set of international standards for the transfer of both clinical and administrative data.
St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment & Recovery Center is contributing data using Consolidated-Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA), the industry standard format for exchanging clinical information.
