Health plans can use Hixny data in Healthcare and Efficiency Data Information Set (HEDIS®) quality reporting.
ALBANY, NEW YORK. October 9, 2020—Hixny announced today that it has received the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)’s Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) Status of Validated with Exception, which will make quality reporting more efficient for both participating health plans and contributing healthcare providers.
NCQA’s DAV program is a voluntary review process that was designed to address feedback received from health plans, vendors and government agencies concerned about improving streamlined access to clinical health data for use in Healthcare and Efficiency Data Information Set (HEDIS)® performance rates. The program ensures that NCQA’s DAV standards and protocols are met and validate that the data provided from the original source accurately reflect the data reported by the aggregator.
Validation demonstrates that Hixny meets these standards and protocols for data quality. As a result, health plans can leverage the data available through the health information network as standard supplemental data or abstracted medical records to meet HEDIS® quality reporting requirements.
“This is a tremendous step toward involving the entire healthcare community in using Hixny,” said Hixny CEO Mark McKinney. “NCQA validation for Hixny will significantly reduce the time and expense that, to this point, health plans have needed to invest in verifying the accuracy of data from aggregators like Hixny against the original data held by primary sources—healthcare providers.”
Through the DAV program, data being contributed and reported through Hixny is automatically checked at the point of input and output, eliminating the need for health plans and auditors to check this manually during their annual HEDIS audit.
This efficiency encourages health plans to work with data from Hixny, while preventing the disruption of provider operations with numerous requests for medical records from auditors representing multiple health plans.
