Meet Hixny’s Executive Team

Mark McKinney, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Mark McKinneyMark has served as Chief Executive Officer at Hixny since 2011 and provided leadership through the organization’s most successful year, in 2012. In this time Hixny recruited a record number of members and saw a significant surge in the amount of data being accessed in the health information exchange (HIE). Through these accomplishments Hixny is the leading Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) in New York State in adoption. This is significant because the Empire State is leading the nation in adoption.

Mark has served in many healthcare product development roles including director of product development for a Pharmacy Benefit Manager and as a director of medical economics for a software development company. He has extensive experience in directing programs to evaluate healthcare data in support of hospitals, physician practices and managed care organizations. Mark has participated in the development and implementation of numerous clinical, financial and statistical models and is recognized in the healthcare community as a thought leader on the application of risk prediction methodologies, healthcare data integration and advanced analytics.

Mark has an MBA in Health Services Administration from Union College in Schenectady, NY and a BS in Biology and Business Administration from Albright College in Reading, PA.


Scott Momrow, MPH

Vice President, Population Health Strategy

Scott Momrow

As Vice President, Scott is currently responsible for developing strategic direction and leading Hixny’s population health management and informatics strategy in order to serve community health plans and emerging risk-bearing healthcare models such as: Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), DSRIP Performing Provider Systems (PPS’), patient-centered medical homes (PCMHs), and Medicaid Health Homes. Scott also oversees the research and development initiatives designed to create new products and services to monitor and analyze populations in order to better manage clinical programs and clinical outcomes.  He is also responsible for business development, marketing and communications.

Previously he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for nfrastructure; held several management positions with National Medical Health Card Systems, Inc. including Vice President of Strategic Data Management Services; and served as Director of Solutions Consulting and Regional Sales Director for Integrail.

Scott serves as a member of the Capital Region Advisory Board of Directors for the American Heart Association, on the Steering Committee of the Healthy Capital District Initiative Population Health Improvement Program (PHIP) and a charter member of the Health Systems Advisory Group convened by The New York State Department of Health Bureau of Community Chronic Disease Prevention.  He previously served two terms on the American Cancer Society New York Capital Region Board of Advisors.  Scott received The Business Review 40 Under Forty award in May 2012.

Scott earned a Master’s of Public Health degree from the State University of New York at Albany and a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Siena College.


Bryan Cudmore

Vice President, Account ManagementCudmore

As Vice President, Account Management at Hixny, Bryan Cudmore is responsible for bringing on new members and participants and supervising customer-facing services, which includes managing the status of over 8,000 active system users.

Cudmore started with Hixny in May, 2011, as Director of Business Development.  In July 2014, he was named Senior Director of Acct Management and Sales.   He was promoted to his current position in March 2016.

Through Cudmore’s effort, Hixny’s list of members and participants grew from a core group of large hospitals, practice groups and payers to every hospital and three-quarters of practices in the region.   He also led his team to achieve significant operational efficiencies, including achieving Salesforce.com advancements and improving user management, account management and onboarding processes.

Prior to joining Hixny, Cudmore had a successful sales career with focuses on business/technology solutions and healthcare/pharmaceutical.   Previous employers include Abbott Laboratories and Complete Business Systems.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Union College.


Debra Hamway

Vice President, Finance

Debra Hamway, CPA, holds a wide range of responsibilities that include accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance and financial reporting.  She also oversees human resources, maintains all financial records and is in charge of grant administration.

Hamway joined Hixny, as an independent contractor, in July 2008.   She held the title of Finance Manager until 2015, when she assumed her current title.

Her career has centered on the healthcare industry.  Immediately prior to joining Hixny, she was Vice President of Finance at Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood.   Other key positions were with Creative Communications Associates of New York; Capital Living and Rehabilitation Centers; Seton Health and Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, Inc.

Hamway holds a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the College of Saint Rose and a Master’s Degree in accountancy from the State University of New York at Albany.

 


 

Taiymoor Naqi

Privacy & Security Officer Naqi Photo

Taiymoor Naqi joined Hixny in May 2016 as Privacy and Security Officer.  His responsibilities include reviewing and, in some cases, establishing new security protocols for the organization.  Taiymoor works closely with the operations, account services and technology teams to recommend and improve processes that will decrease any potential risk.

Taiymoor holds a law degree from State University of New York at Buffalo as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the University at Albany.   He also has a BS in policy analysis and management and a certificate in Executive Leadership for Healthcare Professionals, both from Cornell.

Before joining Hixny, Taiymoor was Manager of Provider Operations at a third-party administrator which enhanced care coordination and empowered patients to stay in their homes while receiving quality care, in Connecticut.   Immediately prior to that, he was Operations Manager/Project Manager for Premier Health, a six-hospital, integrated health care system in Ohio.


Catherine Bunk

Operations Manager 

Catherine leads a team of people who support Hixny members, participants, and patients in a variety of ways. The three main functions housed within her department are customer support, user accounts and patient matching.

Bunk was named to her current position in November, 2015, after a year as an account manager.  For six months of that time, she worked on Hixny’s Qualified Entity audit, which it passed with a score of 99 percent.  While working on the audit, she created many of the Policy and Procedure documents that her operations team now uses on a daily basis.

Prior to joining Hixny, Bunk spent 16 years with Sprint in New York, New Jersey and Georgia.  Her most recent position was in Atlanta, as Trainer Manager, overseeing remote teams of trainers supporting the business sales, consumer sales, customer care, and service and repair organizations.

Bunk also is an avid hiker who has climbed all 46 Peaks of the Adirondacks.


John Bunnell, MBAH

Manager of Account Services

John has responsibility for overseeing Hixny’s account management team, the people who work with healthcare providers to implement and adopt Hixny’s services.   He also handles key accounts and relationships in the healthcare community.

Bunnell was named to this position in March, 2016.  He had joined Hixny, as an account manager, in May, 2013, one month before obtaining his MBA in Healthcare Management from Union Graduate College.   His previous work history includes internships at CDPHP, MVP Health Care, and Treo Solutions.

Bunnell also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a minor in business, from Siena College.
